Airlaid fabrics are also idea for filtration applications. Superabsorbent SAF™ Airlaid fabrics are capable of absorbing many times their own weight in water/saline and locking it away inside their core. They are soft, conformable and can be pleated, which makes them ideal for use as water removing component within oil and diesel filter cartridges.
SAF™ Airlaid fabrics are typically a blend of SAF™, wood pulp and thermal-bondable fibre. Airlaid webs with an excess of 60% SAF™ fibre content can be achieved at fabric weights of approximately 80-1000gsm. Laminates and other finishes are also possible to achieve additional functionality.
SAF™ – a soft fibrous superabsorbent – is the key component in all of our fabrics. SAF™ fabrics absorb water and saline rapidly with excellent retention levels. The SAF™ content does not shed when the fabrics are being cut and shaped for use. Learn more about SAF™
